The material system behind highly customised stands.
“Wooden stand” is an industry description for custom-built exhibition architecture using engineered boards, timber-based construction and associated materials. The finished environment may also include metal, glass, acrylic, fabric, printed graphics, lightboxes and specialist coatings.
Its advantage is creative freedom. Walls, ceilings, counters, product displays and sculptural features can be produced to a specific geometry and finish, allowing the stand to feel closer to a temporary showroom than a standard exhibition system.

Two wooden stands can look very different. Surface preparation, joints, edge details, paint and laminate quality, integrated lighting, graphic alignment and on-site finishing determine whether the result feels premium.
Our process connects design decisions with workshop reality. Material choices are considered against appearance, weight, assembly, maintenance, venue rules, installation time and the intended life of each component.

Integrated lighting
Ambient, feature and product lighting are planned with access, cable routes, heat and on-site connections considered.

Key dimensions, finishes and assembly logic are checked before transport to reduce avoidable show-floor issues.

The crew assembles the structure, completes connections and details, then prepares it for handover.

They are usually chosen for design freedom and finish quality rather than the lowest initial cost. A modular or hybrid system may be more appropriate when speed and economy are the main priorities.
Which materials are used?
The exact specification varies. Engineered wood boards may be combined with timber, metal, glass, acrylic, textiles, printed graphics, paint, laminates and lighting components.
How are venue fire and safety rules handled?
Requirements vary by venue and event. Material documentation, structural limitations, electrical rules and organiser submissions should be reviewed against the current technical manual before production.

Selected components can be designed for reuse, but full reuse depends on storage, transport, future dimensions and how the original construction is engineered.
